I am an experienced Graphic Designer/Print Production Associate; my experience includes eight years of printing and graphics. I am proficient in a multi-platform environment, and all major graphics and design programs. I enjoy trouble shooting and the challenge of learning.

During the past several years, I have refined my skills and techniques by pursuing the theory and the artistry of Graphic Design and Print Production. In high school I was fortunate enough to belong to Future Business Leaders of America where I went on to receive the California Desktop Publishing Championship Award.

In community college, I continued to pursue my interest in Graphic Design and Digital Imaging by taking courses in Digital Imaging, Illustration and Design, and earning a certificate in Graphic Design in addition to my Associate of Arts degree. While going to community college, I was hired by the Supersaver Advertiser as a Graphic Designer. There I learned to apply the commercial tricks of the trade and the knowledge I had gained during my time in school.

I went on to attend High Tech Institute in Phoenix, Arizona where I earned an Associate of Science in Digital Design and Animation. While there, I was able to gain exposure to working in many other fields such Web Programming and Flash Website Design. During my attendance to High Tech Institute, I had the opportunity to work for The National Horseman, one of the top Saddlebred horse magazines in the country, as an on call graphic designer. There I became the top on call Graphic Designer due to my reliability, flexibility and my ability to learn quickly. I was often responsible for uploading finished print-ready PDFs to the press and reviewing proofs from the press for upcoming publications.

I was hired by Affordable Image as Graphic Designer and Pre-Press Specialist. I specialized in large scale production jobs and continued to expand my skills learning variable data technology as well as working directly with the Art Director. I have worked with client provided files and content. I was also the after hours on-call production associate available for press checks and troubleshooting. I often helped in the Bindery department with cutting, scoring, folding and glueing.

Within the last year, I have moved back to hometown and was hired by the local newspaper. I am currently creating ads and layouts for 4-5 weekly publications in addition to several monthly special sections.
